The Faculty of Agribusiness and Commerce is seeking to fill a Professorial vacancy in agricultural economics. The Professor of Agricultural Economics has a senior academic role in the University that focuses on research, teaching and administration responsibilities.

This is primarily in the context of supporting the new Bachelor of Commerce (Food and Resource Economics) and research Master's and PhD supervision in the field of agricultural economics. The University has a well-established reputation with the agricultural sector in New Zealand and a key role for the appointee is to build this reputation in the area of agricultural and food economics.

As the Faculty has a specific focus on agribusiness, there is also an expectation of involvement in teaching, research and supervision in other areas of agribusiness (trade, supply chains, finance) and agricultural/farm management (productivity, governance) in the Faculty.

The appointee will be expected to enhance the reputation of Lincoln University's economics programme by deepening and broadening the content, presenting and publishing high quality research, showing leadership in programme development, and by promoting Faculty programmes at national and international forums.

The appointee is expected to have a role in OneFarm - Centre of Excellence in Farm Business Management, a joint research centre with Massey University and to develop links with the Agribusiness and Economics Research Unit (AERU). The appointee will also contribute to proposals for consultancy and research contracts.

The successful candidate will be part of a team in the Faculty of Agribusiness and Commerce that supports Lincoln University's strategic focus on 'feeding the world, protecting the future and living well', and that aspires to become the leading provider of agribusiness education and research in Australasia.
