RBC Economics Research has an immediate opening for an economist.
The position will focus primarily on the analysis and forecasting of key financial market variables as they pertain to the financial services industry. The role will include contributing to the various departmental publications related to the subject area and for conveying the department’s view on these subjects both internally and to outside clients, including the media.
Key Accountabilities:
The position will involve the analysis of current conditions in the financial services industry in Canada and to a lesser degree, the United States. This analysis will be geared toward reporting on current and developing trends in household and business finances. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for researching various public policy issues that are of interest to RBC and its businesses.
Job Requirements: (Knowledge/ Experience):
• MA in Economics, with a keen interest in Canadian and U.S. financial services industry.
• Working experience doing economic analysis.
• Proficiency in econometrics and quantitative analysis.
• Enthusiastic, analytically minded and a team player.
• Professional written and oral communication skills.
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with other Microsoft Office software.
• A demonstrated ability to deliver incisive and thoughtful research within tight time constraints.
