The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg has an opening for
2 Doctoral candidates (PhD students) in Finance (M/F)
With a specialisation in empirical finance

Ref: F2-080016 and F2-080017(to be mentioned in all correspondence)
3-years fixed-term contract, 40h/week, renewable once for one 1 year.


The assistants will be working under the supervision of Prof. Thorsten Lehnert and Prof. Christian Wolff within the Luxembourg School of Finance. The assistants will be integrated into the doctoral school in finance and will follow the program leading to a PhD in finance, including the successful completion of the required course work and the pursuit of research projects in the area of empirical finance as part of their PhD Thesis.


Tasks
• The candidates' main task will consist of contributing to the research within the Luxembourg School of Finance and preparing a doctoral thesis in the field of empirical finance. The thesis is to be prepared at the University of Luxembourg.
• Contribute to the teaching at the rate of one to three hours per week of small group teaching and tutorials.


Profile
• Master's degree in finance, economics, econometrics, mathematics/statistics, computer science or related fields. A research Masters is considered an advantage
• Have the linguistic skills to evolve in a multilingual environment: fluency in either English or French, good understanding of the second language and possibly a third language, German in particular, will be considered an advantage.
