Auburn University s Department of Economics is seeking candidates for a tenured full professor position in Economics. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.
This position is for the Chair of the Economics Department at Auburn University. The Economics Department recently relocated to the College of Liberal Arts, and is in the process of transferring its academic programs and rebuilding its faculty. The Chair will be asked to lead the Economics Department in the development of a new vision for itself within the College of Liberal Arts. Candidates for this position should be senior faculty leaders with records of success in publication and teaching. Previous administrative experience is highly desirable. Successful applicants must meet Auburn University s requirements for tenure and the rank of full professor. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in economics and is open to any subfield within the economic discipline. The Department is particularly interested in applicants who would be able to assist the department in integrating its programs into the College of Liberal Arts. Previous experience with interdisciplinary collaboration in research and teaching is desirable. Representatives of the Department will be available at the AEA meetings in Atlanta, GA to discuss this position with potential candidates. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment; excellent communication skills required. Auburn, Alabama is a university community in a metropolitan area of about 100,000 with an enviable climate, excellent schools, and an easy drive to metropolitan areas such as Atlanta, GA.
