Moody’s Economy.com, a Division of Moody’s Analytics located in West Chester, PA is a leading independent provider of economic, financial, country, and industry research designed to meet the diverse planning and information needs of businesses, governments, and professional investors worldwide. You would be responsible for forecasting and analysis of macroeconomic, public sector and industry topics. Macroeconomic analysis will include topics related to the U.S. as a whole, state and metropolitan areas, and/or other major global economies. Microeconomic analysis will include forecasting and preparing analysis for global industries. Estimation and management of forecast models and the supervision of model estimation by others. Experience modeling public policy topics and tax revenues is a plus. Writing analysis pieces will include real-time analysis and additional commentary for our live website, near-term analysis for monthly subscription products, longer-term analysis for special projects and consulting, and editing analysis contributed by other research staff. Contract consulting work, including proposal writing, model specification, and estimation; meeting with clients to discuss proposed and current projects; making presentations at our conferences; and establishing a close working relationship with clients to understand their use of our products is also required.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. (or ABD) in Economics and minimum seven years relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in Economics and ten years of relevant experience with economic analysis, either for U.S. macro, U.S. regional or international economics is required. Excellent academic record; in-depth research and econometric skills; excellent writing; presentation and interpersonal skills.
