Energy Economist, Senior

Lead analytical work as part of a multi-disciplinary energy analysis group. Work as part of a team of energy consultants conducting analysis on and using models of national energy markets. Apply econometric skills, experience with modeling macro-economic time series in simulation and forecasting, I/O macro-economic models, including IMPLAN and REMI, and excellent oral and written communication skills. Provide technical vision and lead the research and model development efforts with the potential to build your own team. This position can be located in Morgantown, WV or Pittsburgh, PA.

Basic Qualifications:

-10 years experience developing models for macro-economic forecasting

-Experience in econometrics modeling with large data sets

-Experience with IMPLAN and REMI

-Experience with developing, running, and interpreting NEMS forecasting and projections

-Ability to work with other researchers on current projects and collaborate with research staff on future research initiatives

-Ability to obtain security clearance

-MA or MS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience in working with DOE

-Experience with developing, running, and interpreting NEMS forecasting and projections

-Ability to work well with others and independently

-Possession of excellent oral and written communications skills in order to present research results to laboratory staff, sponsors, industry, and academia

-PhD degree in Economics, CS, or a related field preferred
