The Chicago Fed's Economic Research Department is looking for students who have completed their junior year of college to work as paid summer interns. We seek bachelor's degree candidates with a strong background in economics, mathematics, and statistics. Job Summary: Economic research interns assist economists in the analysis of public policy issues and events. Issues include monetary policy, banking, labor and financial markets, payments systems, community, development, and the state of the US and global economies. Job Description · Supports the economists in their basic and applied research by following instructions to perform tasks including collecting data, conducting statistical analysis, writing programs using statistical software, and organizing the presentation of results · Assists the economists in the analysis of public policy issues and events. Issues include monetary policy, bank regulation, payments systems, financial markets, community development and the state of the US and global economies. · Performs other duties as requested Job Requirements: · Major in Economics, Finance, Business, Mathematics, or related field with emphasis on quantitative and/or analytical skills · Strong grade point average, quantitative and qualitative acumen, · MATLAB, SAS or STATA knowledge, and past experience as a research assistant are beneficial. |
