Senior Lectureship in Banking and Finance Law or Economics

The Centre for Commercial Law Studies and the Department of Economics are seeking to employ a suitably qualified Senior Lecturer to direct and teach courses on the newly-established joint MSc programme in Banking and Finance Law/Economics. The successful candidate will contribute to the
work of the CCLS, a world leading institution with a highly acclaimed teaching and research record, and to the Department of Economics ranked joint sixth in the UK in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise. The post holder will report jointly to the Director of CCLS, Professor Spyros Maniatis and to
the Head of Department of Economics, Professor George Kapetanios.

Candidates should have an excellent academic background and a PhD in either Law or Economics. Expertise in carbon trading from either an economics, legal or financial perspective would be desirable. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver high-quality teaching to career lawyers, economists and professionals already operating in the banking, securities and financial areas, some of whom may be from major financial institutions and law firms. The postholder will be expected to make significant research contributions to the field nationally and internationally and undertake administrative duties agreed jointly by the Director of CCLS and the Head of Department of Economics.
