The Research Institute for the Evaluation of Public Policies (Istituto per la Ricerca Valutativa sulle Politiche Pubbliche - IRVAPP) is urgently seeking to make an appointment for someone with a PhD in Economics to join a multidisciplinary research team.

IRVAPP is a policy-relevant research organization based in Trento, Italy. The scientific mission includes policy impact evaluation research, setting-up of policy-relevant data archive, and training of both policy evaluators and civil servants.

The post holder will be expected to contribute to existing and planned research, and to develop an important database of individual work histories (WHIP), based on Italian National Institute of Social Security's (Inps) administrative archives.

Applicants for the post of Junior Researcher in Economics should have:

- A Ph.D. (or, equivalently, Dottorato di ricerca) in Economics, with research experience.

- Experience of using a major statistical software such as SAS, Stata, SPSS and/or R.

- A good knowledge of statistical modeling, particularly for the analysis of longitudinal/panel micro-data.

- A good understanding of general methodological issues related to policy impact evaluation.

- A good knowledge of life course studies and labour market functioning.

This appointment is full-time and fixed-term for 12 months in the first instance. Monthly salary (after tax) will be in the range of €1.300 to €1.800 dependent on skills and experience. The post will be based at IRVAPP/Fondazione Bruno Kessler, Via.S Croce 77, Trento - Italy (http://irvapp.fbk.eu/) but will involve extensive periods of work outside the IRVAPP site, especially for the first months (moving expenditures will be covered by IRVAPP).
