This is a high-leverage position responsible for designing and implementing analytical models to improve our residential mortgage securities valuation. The position will be part of a multidisciplinary team and will report to the Co- Head of Asset Management. The position will be charged with creating an innovative, multi-tiered systematic approach to develop proprietary models for forecasting residential real estate portfolio delinquencies, defaults and voluntary prepayments. This position will work in tandem with a servicing expert to create mortgage servicing rights valuation models. The key responsibilities of the position would be: •Using data from in-house servicing portfolio and external data providers to develop delinquency, default and prepayment forecasts for different mortgage products. •Enhance existing servicing valuation models to improve reliability. •Developing knowledge base of industry/market trends and analysis of their impact and potential for new business •Providing a macro analysis to senior management on a periodic basis on housing markets trends and future outlook. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: •Hands on experience in Mathematical/Statistical/Financial modeling •Good knowledge of statistical tools (SAS/SPSS/Minitab) & techniques Experience with large-scale data-marts •Ability to understand and approach complex problems practically and analytically •Good communication skills Required Qualifications: •Post Graduate degree in Economics / Psychometrics / Mathematics / Statistics / Engineering •3-5 years of experience in developing statistical models |
