The Department of Public Economics at the Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property, Competition and Tax Law in Munich pursues fundamental research on problems of public economics, with a focus on taxation and redistribution. Current research projects are in the areas of international tax competition, tax incidence, and the political economy of taxation and redistribution.
The department announces the opening of a position as Senior Research Fellow (Economist)
Candidates should have a research focus in public economics. They should hold a Ph.D. in economics or be close to finishing their Ph.D., and have a strong background either in applied microeconomic theory, in microeconometrics or in experimental economics. The working language of the department is English. The department closely interacts with a group of legal scholars working on legal aspects of taxation, and with the Department of Economics at the University of Munich. The term of appointment is initially limited to three years. Salary is based on the Labour Agreement for Public Service (TVöD) depending on qualification and work experience. Social benefits correspond to the rules of the Public Service (Bund).
