Economics is at the heart of the Competition and Markets Authority's work. We have an exciting opportunity which calls for an enthusiastic Economist who is keen to work on large-scale investigations with a team of exceptional practitioners. The interests of the consumer are at the core of all the CMA activities.

In this role, you will join a strong community of Economists, working in a collaborative, collegiate atmosphere. We are an international team; our Economists have a range of backgrounds and nationalities. You will have the opportunity to work on diverse cases across the full range of projects the CMA undertakes, including mergers and markets, competition and consumer enforcement cases, and regulatory appeals. Recent cases include: Tesco/Booker merger; market studies of care homes and digital comparison tools; and Phenytoin CA98 case. You will work in small, dedicated teams undertaking economic analysis to assess competitive effects in markets and you will also be expected to contribute to the intellectual development of the team of professional Economists.

Successful candidates will have gained a relevant qualification or be expecting to graduate this summer.
