The Department of Communication, Liberal Arts, Social Sciences (CLASS) at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (New Mexico Tech) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Social Science with a specialization in Science, Technology, and Society. Teaching load is three social science courses per semester. Possible courses include Ethics of Scientific Innovation, Social Contexts of Science and Technology, Methods. Assistant Professor will also teach introductory courses in political science (Introduction to Political Science) or a course such as Introduction to Scientific Inquiry. Assistant Professor will also teach upper-level courses in research area and possible graduate courses. Required Ph.D. in Science and Technology or related field (e.g. Science, Technology, and Society; Sociology; Political Science; Economics). Areas of expertise/research are not limited, but might include the politics of water rights, energy, bioethics, global warming. Assistant Professor can institute a minor in field. Seeking scholars interested in trans-disciplinary research and teaching.
