Position Summary
The Southern Oregon University, (SOU) Division of Business, Communication and Environmental Studies (BCE) invites applications for a tenure track, 9 month, faculty position in Business and Finance at the Assistant Professor level. The candidate should demonstrate competency in teaching, advising, and research. Teaching assignments will include at least two of the four functional areas of finance (managerial finance, investments, financial markets and institutions, and international finance), at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. The desired candidate will also be able to teach intermediate macroeconomics and quantitative methods. Candidates should show excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational and management experience related to finance and economic data along with the ability to support varied student, faculty, and community-based research initiatives in these areas. Desire and experience to teach, mentor, and support students from diverse background and learning styles.

Minimum Qualifications
• A doctoral degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related discipline at the time of appointment from a university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized accrediting organization or is ABD.
• Ability to teach finance, investments, and intermediate macroeconomics at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Demonstrated maintenance of an active scholarly research and/or outreach program.
• Experience teaching in the face-to-face classroom environment as well as online.
• Applicants must address in their applications their ability to work with and instruct a culturally diverse population.

Preferred Qualifications
• Demonstrated interest and ability in acquiring external funding for research.
• Experience teaching in a college or university setting.
• Experience with academic advising of students.
• Preference given to candidates who can also teach quantitative methods courses.

Teaching, sitting, and working at a computer.
