Assistant Professor in Economics

The Department of Economics invites applications from strong candidates in any field of specialisation. The number of posts available will depend on funding and the Department's requirements.

You will teach undergraduate and graduate students, as well as carrying out research.

You must have expertise and research interests in Economics and/or Econometrics, as well as an ability to establish an international reputation in these fields. You will have a completed PhD, or be close to obtaining a PhD, in Economics or a related discipline by the post start date.

You will have a track record or trajectory of internationally excellent publications. Furthermore, a proven ability, as evidenced by existing publications, or potential to publish in top journals in Economics and/or Econometrics. You will also have a clear, well developed and viable strategy for future outstanding research that has the potential to result in world-leading publications.

You should have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to teach Economics and/or Econometrics at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels.

Salary is competitive with peer institutions worldwide. UK Visas and Immigration requires that we inform applicants that the minimum salary for Assistant Professors at LSE is determined by step 39.5 in the Salary Band corresponding to £51,908, which we supplement as needed to take market considerations into account.
