Assistant Professor of Economics

The Smith College Department of Economics invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position starting July 1, 2015. Candidates should have strong foundations in public economics, preferably with a demonstrated interest in pursuing empirical research in the field, and in statistics, and a commitment to undergraduate teaching. A Ph.D. by the time of appointment is required.

Tenure-track faculty members teach two courses each semester and enjoy a generous sabbatical policy; teaching responsibilities for this position will regularly include public economics, Introduction to Statistics and Econometrics, and microeconomics and/or macroeconomics at the introductory level, with the possibility of other courses depending upon the faculty member's interests.
