Job Summary & Responsibilities

Duties: Recommending actionable Buy/Hold/Sell stock ideas from our coverage to wide variety of institutional investors, the firm's trading desk and internal company sales force. Responding to requests for bespoke quantitative analysis and models by external clients and the Securities Division, tied to investment ideas and strategies. Interacting with CEOS/COOs/CFOs/Investor Relations of North American Exploration & Production companies at various public forums. Formulating and asking questions to senior management on company conference calls. Utilize Enterprise Value/Earnings Before Interest, Depreciation and Amortization (EV-EBITDA) as well as the firm's proprietary valuation methodologies based on discounted cash flows to determine price targets for North American Exploration & Production companies. Forecast Exploration and Production company revenues/earnings by monitoring trends in production and global commodity prices. Creating and analyzing detailed financial models of ~50 North American E&P companies under coverage. Developing detailed NAV models for geological resource plays for valuation purposes. Detailed analysis of shale, LNG and deepwater project globally. Modeling production/ resource potential, economics of various oil and gas fields globally. Analyzing global and US natural gas macro environment and helping develop and maintain natural gas supply-demand forecast model. Help in forecasting various global and regional commodity prices. Writing deep-dive company/industry reports, sector updates, quarterly earnings previews and quarterly earnings takeaways. Driving thematic cross sector and industry research pieces and recommendations. Utilize firm's proprietary tools like TIGR and Quantum for doing industry level analysis for generation of an effective product. Utilize advanced research analysis tools such as Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters and other data providers to download and analyze data to assess market expectations and business trends.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or equivalent) in a quantitative field such as engineering or finance plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related Financial Analysis position. Prior work experience must include three (3) years: Utilizing Microsoft Excel including creation of pivot tables, logical functions, data tables and writing macros, Powerpoint, Word, Factset; Utilizing Financial accounting skills including state/federal/international oil and gas taxation, preferred share accounting; Writing financial reports on the oil and gas industry; Utilizing quantitative skills including putting quantitative/qualitative datapoints into a quantitative framework and responding to incoming quantitative questions; Identifying and analyzing industry trends in the energy sector; Liaising with clients and presenting on industry and company views; Utilizing valuation and modeling skills to value oil and gas investments which includes absolute valuation methodologies (DCF), cash flow multiples analysis, calculation of cash returns on investment, sensitivity analysis, debt and leverage analysis. FINRA Series 7, 63, 86 and 87 licenses required.
