Associate Professor (Tenure-Track) in Banking, Corporate Finance, or related fields (M/F).

The position at the Associate Professor level follows Luxembourg's tenure-track scheme according to which the initial appointment is a fixed-term contract. Upon successful evaluation of the projects, the candidate can be offered a permanent position.

ABOUT US:
The Luxembourg School of Finance (LSF) is the finance group of the faculty of Law, Economics, and Finance at the University of Luxembourg. The University of Luxembourg, a public university funded by the Luxembourg government, has a strong research focus. Our core objective is to be an academic leader in the creation and dissemination of an integrated body of knowledge in finance.

The LSF emphasizes high quality research and aims to be a leading finance group within Europe. The group at the LSF is growing and we aim to hire several senior and junior faculty positions over the next few years.

The LSF hosts the Luxembourg Asset Management Summit and a top-quality seminar series. The LSF is active in hiring on the junior job market at the AFA meetings (we hired graduates from e.g. Harvard, Carnegie Mellon, Tilburg, Montreal, or HEC Paris).

Furthermore, the LSF has various highly successful teaching programs and is closely connected with the financial industry in Luxembourg. It has a very international faculty committed to top quality research which published in the top econ and finance journals.

ABOUT LUXEMBOURG:

Luxembourg's financial centre is the largest investment fund captive reinsurance centre in Europe and the largest private banking centre in the Eurozone. Your Role
The Luxembourg School of Finance is determined to continue its way to become a leading European Finance department. To accomplish this, the LSF can benefit from its location in a truly international country and in one of the main financial centres in Europe. There exist ample opportunity for inspiring interactions with the financial centre. The Associate Professor shall play an active role in establishing the LSF as a leading European finance group; the package we offer is commensurate with this ambition. In particular, shall be engaged in research, teaching, and administrative duties.

Your Profile
• The candidate shall show have or show potential for highest quality research and publications in the top finance and/or economics journals.
• Additional requirements include a PhD in Finance or Economics or related disciplines, completed at least three years ago.

The University of Luxembourg is set in a multilingual context. It is desired that the successful candidate will have a working knowledge in at least two of the following languages: English, French, and German. However, it is also possible to obtain proficiency in a second language after being hired as the University provides access to language classes. A basic knowledge of French has to be acquired during the first two years.
