Business Development Associate

We treat this is an important role working as part of our global effort to build a world-class Business Development Support function at PIMCO that adheres to best practices. This role will have a day-to-day focus on RFP writing and supporting of our sales teams and Client Service departments across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
We have a cohesive team - seven Associates in London and four in Munich - which is currently arranged by channel rather than by product, allowing each member to develop strong internal relationships with their key stakeholders. Indeed, the team is encouraged to proactively contribute to the business development efforts of their channels – over and above their day-to-day remit.

Responsibilities include:
• Primary coverage allocation based on experience and language skills
• Ensure all RFPs and RFIs (inc surveys) are completed within deadline and to a high standard. We aim to create accurate, professional, client-focused proposals that highlight the benefits of our solutions for each mandate.
• Complete (where appropriate co-ordinate) consultant databases that support business and consultant efforts.
• Assist with the maintenance of a suite of standard Strategy RFPS as well as responses in the RFP machine.
• Responsible for ensuring Assets Under Management and Investment Professional's data is suitable and up-to-date for EMEA use.
• Share ideas and leverage work wherever possible across the team.
• Assist with all aspects of team function – supporting other team members wherever required.
• Actively contribute maintaining a high standard of procedures and practices within the Team.

Position Requirements

• Strong interpersonal skills to engage busy, high calibre investment professionals
• Well organized individual with the ability to work independently - ability to work within tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard
• Must work well in a team environment, and have the ability to interact effectively with senior level employees and external contacts
• Good knowledge of investment products essential
• Fixed income strategies highly desirable; and/or strong background in macroeconomics
• Strong previous experience in RFPs. Ability to generate new content in line with the firm's branding and messaging.
• Strong ability in written English is essential. Italian language skills are highly desirable but not a necessity. Demonstrable experience of writing RFPs in multiple languages is extremely advantageous.
• Experience of working across a number of financial markets – retail and institutional – across EMEA
• Degree (preferably economics or finance related) desirable
• Professional qualifications e.g. IMC, CFA an advantage
• Strong experience of Consultant databases is highly desirable but not a necessity.
• Proficiency in software applications essential. Advanced Excel skills very beneficial but not essential.
