Capital Economics, one of the world's leading macro-economics research companies, is looking for a talented Canada economist to join our highly respected team in Toronto.

As an economist here, you will translate potentially complex economic issues into well-written and interesting analysis, ranging from punchy one-page updates to longer think-pieces. You will have the opportunity to build your profile – our economists appear regularly on television and in the newspapers – and to work with colleagues who have extensive experience in financial and public sector institutions.

Under the supervision of our Chief North America Economist, Paul Ashworth, the successful candidate would be expected to maintain our Canada macro service, taking responsibility for the "house view”, including macro-economic and key market forecasts and assessments of the outlooks for monetary and fiscal policy.

Successful candidates will need at least a good first degree in economics, ideally a Master's degree too, and at least two years' relevant experience. A sound grasp of economic principles, an enquiring mind and the ability to express yourself clearly in English are absolutely essential.
