STIRLING MANAGEMENT SCHOOL – ECONOMICS DIVISION
CHAIR IN ECONOMICS
The Economics Division seeks to appoint a Professor in Economics. We are looking for candidates from any area of economics with outstanding research records in terms of refereed journal publications and research income. We are looking for an individual who can provide research leadership both within the Economics Division, but also within the Management School, working with and encouraging more junior members of staff to maximise their research potential, and realising the significant opportunities which exist for synergies across the School, and elsewhere within the University. The University is seeking to greatly increase its research income over the next 5 years, and the SIRE professor will have a key role to play in achieving this aim. We anticipate that the successful candidate will chair the division’s Research and Knowledge Exchange committee.
The post is part-funded by SIRE, the Scottish Institute for Research in Economics (
www.sire.ac.uk): the successful candidate would become part of SIRE’s global research community, whilst being based in Stirling. The post will also involve PhD supervision and teaching (including the option of graduate teaching on the Scottish Graduate Programme in Economics:
www.sgpe.ac.uk).
This is a full time, open ended post. The starting salary will be agreed with the successful candidate
