Job Purpose
The successful candidate will be a recognised authority in Economics or a relevant subfield (such as applied economics, economic theory, behavioural economics, econometrics, environmental economics, financial economics, or macroeconomics) with a proven track record of research grant capture and peer-review publication commensurate with the academic reputation of the School. S/he will also be able to demonstrate tangible and sustained achievements in the development, design and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and supervision as well as significant and sustained experience of managing large research projects and institutional structures of research activity. The title of the substantive Chair and its departmental home will be agreed with the successful candidate.

Person Specification
A PhD in a relevant field
An international reputation for excellence in research and teaching demonstrated through an outstanding publications record and suitable teaching performance indicators
An established record of attracting external funding and engagement in knowledge-transfer activities
Extensive experience of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision to
doctoral level.
Skills in managing projects and working collaboratively with fellow scholars.
Extensive experience of fostering academic collaboration across disciplinary boundaries
Experience of working within and leading internal and external networks
A record as a "good citizen" who recognises the need to foster collegiate endeavour and a sense of academic fellowship
