The role:

MNI is seeking an economist with experience in analysis of the Chinese economy to join our Indicators team

Reporting to the Chief Economist, the successful candidate will write and develop our monthly business and consumer surveys and provide economic analysis on the Chinese economy

Key responsibilities:
* Analysis of monthly business and consumer surveys and writing associated reports and other content to tight deadlines

* Analysis of the Chinese economy for inclusion in reports

* Oversight and development of our Chinese surveys

* Ad-hoc research on our survey data and the Chinese economy

*Speaking with the media and helping to market our products

Qualifications:

* A good university degree in economics – ideally post-graduate degree
* Fluent in both English and Chinese
* Around 5 years' experience in Chinese economic research
* Econometric analysis of time series data
* The position involves working in a small team and while the successful candidate will have a defined role, the ability to work flexibly within the team is important
* The successful candidate would be based in Beijing with occasional duty travel within Asia and to Europe
