Overview:
MediaMath is currently seeking a Data Analyst with the knowledge, passion and capability to mine complex datasets and discover insights that drive value for our clients. At MediaMath, data, optimization and insights are at the center of the value proposition we bring to clients. This role will extend that value proposition to more custom, client-specific initiatives based on direction from our internal teams, stated client objectives and internal hypothesis.

The ideal candidate has the appropriate blend of technical capabilities, business acumen and analytical chops to focus on the challenges of our biggest clients. Finally, the Data Analyst will use creativity, insight, and relentless commitment to problem solving to create valuable insights and delight our clients. Performance metrics in this position are tied directly to value provided to the client and subsequent revenue impacts.

Responsibilities:
Design, execute, and deliver ad hoc reporting and custom analysis in response to client needs
Develop automated tools and processes to automate common reporting & analytics requests (e.g., client dashboards) across MediaMath's client base
Work with client account teams to translate client analytics and modeling needs and requests into action plans and deliverables that satisfy client needs
Provide end-to-end guidance on ad hoc analytics and reporting, including proposing optimal approaches & methodologies, evaluating & iterating results, and packaging & delivering client end products
Demonstrate detailed and expert knowledge of all MediaMath systems, processes, and capabilities relevant to analytics & reporting (e.g., data architecture, attribution, T1 interface, reporting & dashboards, APIs, ETL/integration points, real-time/asynchronous methods for exchanging data, etc.)
Work with the PS team and Product Marketing team to package analytics-related solutions
Train PS teams as well as other MM teams on reporting and analytics
Work directly with client teams to identify business goals, opportunities, and online marketing objectives and assure highest level of implementation of the MediaMath platform
Provide subject matter expertise to MediaMath account teams and clients in terms of best practices and capabilities to ensure on-time trafficking of campaigns, troubleshooting, and quality assurance
Iteratively work with senior management and sales/marketing to refine product vision
Work directly with Engineering groups while managing multiple time sensitive client projects throughout all phases of the development life cycle
Be fully autonomous and self-motivated in making processes as efficient as possible
Take pride in process as much as in results, always looking to improve elegance, efficiency and scope of solutions
Be eager to learn the ins and outs of Advertising Technology both from an internal, technical standpoint and an external, business standpoint

Requirements:
Undergraduate or advanced degree in quantitative field preferred (e.g., math, statistics, economics, physics, computer science, electrical engineering, etc.)
2+ years' experience working in analytics and reporting in a business context (e.g., marketing analysis, financial modeling, media measurement, business intelligence, strategic planning, etc.)
Passionate about marketing, no fear of numbers
Positive can-do attitude; Enthusiastic about problem solving and building technical skills
Great attention to detail
Must be able to travel 10% time (frequent day trips, semi-regular overnights required)

Qualifications:
Proficient to expert knowledge of data processing & querying methods and software: Python, SQL, Shell Scripting/Bash a must; experience with Hadoop and Hive a plus
Strong familiarity with reporting and data visualization methodologies, with real-world experience in using them to solve business problems
Experience selling, presenting, and discussing data and analysis with clients, including specialist and non-specialist audiences alike
Ability to translate high-level needs into specific and actionable solutions
Ability to explain complex analyses to a non-technical audience
Ability to manage a pipeline of projects and competing priorities against aggressive deadlines
Ability to work collaboratively across functional teams
Strong verbal, written & interpersonal communication skills
Strong problem-solving, analytic, and strategic-thinking skills
Ability to self-manage against aggressive deadlines once given an objective to accomplish
Product development experience a plus
Experience being part of high-growth environments a plus
