NYU Shanghai is adding new open-rank faculty positions to expand our research and teaching activities in data science. We seek entrepreneurial data scientists with a proven research record in applying advanced statistical and computational methods to the social sciences including, but not limited to sociology, psychology, political science, economics, urban studies, and environmental studies. We are particularly, but not exclusively, interested in candidates with expertise in causal inference, machine learning, or time series analysis. Also, experience with real-world large scale datasets is desirable. Successful candidates need to demonstrate vision for their research program at NYU Shanghai, as well as commitment to interdisciplinary research and education. NYU Shanghai has a vibrant undergraduate program in Data Science, and the Data Science group at NYU Shanghai closely collaborates with the Center for Data Sciences, and with the Courant Institute of Mathematics, at NYU in New York.

Terms of employment at NYU Shanghai are comparable to U.S. institutions with respect to research start-up funds and compensation, and they include housing subsidies and educational subsidies for children. Faculty may also spend time at NYU New York and other sites of the NYU Global Network, engaging in both research and teaching.
