Position: Director of Public Accountability

The Public Accountability team is focused on improving the efficiency and efficacy of the public sector. We support initiatives that help governments and nonprofits make decisions based on data and evidence as well as projects that promote fiscal sustainability and the effective oversight of public funds. As part of the Public Accountability team, the Director will be responsible for developing, managing, and supporting activities in LJAF's Public Accountability portfolio. This portfolio currently includes investments in the areas of retirement policy, tax policy, economic mobility, and evidence-based policymaking. The Director will report to the Vice President of Public Accountability.

Core Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Public Accountability team and LJAF Board to refine LJAF's Public Accountability strategy and areas of focus
• Identify, research, and evaluate new, high-leverage philanthropic opportunities
• Present charitable investment/grant recommendations to LJAF's Board
• Execute and manage charitable investments approved by LJAF's Board, which will include working with grantees to develop strategic plans, establishing performance metrics, and monitoring performance
• Manage relationships with new and existing grantees, experts, and key stakeholders
• Collaborate with LJAF staff to explore and develop cross-initiative charitable investment opportunities

• Keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Positive, professional, team-oriented, mission-driven attitude
• Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner

• Mastery of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe Acrobat, and other standard computer software
