1 Doctoral candidate (PhD student) in Economics (M/F)
A specialisation is foreseen in the application of dynamic general equilibrium theory to economic growth.

• Ref: F2-080019 (to be mentioned in all correspondence)

• 3-year fixed-term contract, renewable once (up to a total of 4 years maximum), 40h/week.


Tasks

• The doctoral candidate will be working within the Research Unit of CREA. The doctoral candidate is expected to contribute to research projects in the area of dynamic general equilibrium theory applied to economic growth. Particular interest in the economics of population aging or in the relationship between economic growth and the distribution of income and wealth would be an asset.
• The candidate's main task will be to prepare a doctoral thesis in the field of Dynamic Economic Analysis, under the supervision of Professor Andreas Irmen. The thesis has to be undertaken at the University of Luxembourg but can also be part of a joint supervision with another university.
• Contribute to the teaching of classes ranging from one to three hours per week, of small group teachings and tutorials at all academic levels.

Profile

• Master's degree in Economics with a strong focus on quantitative methods.
• Have the linguistic skills to evolve in a multilingual environment: fluency in English and a good understanding of a second language, German or French, will be considered an advantage.
