The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg is recruiting a Doctoral researcher (PhD student) in Econometrics (M/F)

A specialisation is foreseen in Microeconometrics
• Ref: F2-080022 (to be mentioned in all correspondence)
• 36 months fixed-term contract, extendable up to 48 months
• Full-time position (40 h/week)
• Earliest started date: 01/09/2020

Your Role
• The doctoral researcher will be working within the Department of Economics and Management. The doctoral researcher is expected to contribute to research projects in the area of Microeconometrics. Particular interest in methodological issues related to semiparametric models, nonparametric models, and high-dimensional models would be an asset.
• The candidate's main task will be to prepare a doctoral thesis in the field of Microeconometrics, under the supervision of Professor Gautam Tripathi. The thesis work will be undertaken at the University of Luxembourg, but can also be jointly-supervised with another university.
• Contribute to the teaching of classes ranging from one to three hours per week, of small group teachings and tutorials.

Your Profile
• Master's degree in Economics with a strong focus on quantitative methods, comparable to the Master of Science in Quantitative Economics and Finance (MScQEF) offered at the University of Luxembourg (https://wwwfr.uni.lu/formations/fdef/msc_in_quantitative_economics_and_finance).
• Holders of a joint Master's degree in Economics and Statistics, or Economics and Mathematics, are especially encouraged to apply.
• Have the linguistic skills to evolve in a multilingual environment: fluency in either English or French, good understanding of the second language and possibly a third language, German in particular, will be considered an advantage.
