Economic Analyst

The Economic Analyst provides data reporting, management and collection services to the Office of the Executive Director Post Analysis and Support division of the Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA). Ideal for recent college graduate or others who are comfortable in this entry-level position.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
• Produce and circulate regular reports about components of CA's business processes, including visa interview bookings, visa processing, visa interview wait times, and adjudicator productivity
• Support and collaborate with management analysts, to meet data collection, management and reporting needs
• Address ad hoc data requests from a wide audience within CA and from overseas missions
• Provide other services as required

Audience for reports and users of ad hoc services:
• The audience for the regular reports are senior-level individuals in CA and in overseas missions, including the Assistant Secretary of State for CA, as well as the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Commerce
• The users of ad hoc data services would range from PAS analysts to senior-level individuals in CA.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
• Bachelor's Degree
• Good Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to use pivot tables and formulas, and create high-quality data visualizations
• Comfortable using and manipulating large data sets from various sources
• Good standard of written English
• Experience utilizing a variety of office software, including: Microsoft (MS) Word, MS Power Point, MS Excel, MS Share Point, and MS Outlook
- Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required
- Successful completion of a CGI Background Investigation; including criminal, education, employment, credit and driving record checks
-An INTERIM SECRET security clearance is required to begin employment; and thereafter a SECRET security clearance must be maintained for the duration of employment (U.S. citizenship required).
-Positive attitude and self motivated.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Ability to prioritize and organize workload.
