The American Institute for Economic Research, located in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, is now looking for an economics writer.
The economics writer would be responsible for producing written product for a general audience. Our research fellows produce working papers for submission to peer-reviewed journals. We need a writer to produce clear presentations of this research targeted to a general audience. In addition, we produce personal finance books and have recently been using contract writers for this work. We are interested in having a staff writer work on some of these titles. Finally, we are interested in providing more content to our readers and members in new formats and for new audiences. We are interested in an economics writer that could serve this range of purposes.


The American Institute for Economic Research helps individuals take action to improve their economic and financial well-being by providing factual, unbiased research and analysis. We strive to be a trusted source for economic information that serves ordinary people. Historically we have focused our research activities on business cycles and the macro economy, but we currently have a growing applied microeconomics group with an emphasis on education and small business. The ideal candidate will have interest in pursuing a research agenda that increases our capacity to understand the structural forces that affect individual, household or firm-level economic actors.
