Take your research skills to the next level and gain valuable experience contributing to projects within our Research, Community Development or Supervision Policy Group.

Community Development Internship:

Community Development supports community reinvestment, fair and equal access to credit lending, and economic development activities throughout the Fourth District through active engagement of bank stakeholders as well as applied research and analysis. They seek to identify best practices, build partnerships, and provide training and technical assistance to bankers and community development practitioners.
Contribute to team projects using quantitative and qualitative research methods to learn about economic development programs and policies, focusing primarily on mortgage finance and workforce development
Assist with additional research involving gathering data from various sources and manipulate data using statistical packages and programming languages such as Excel, HTML, and SAS
Participate in the preparation of economic development and urban housing publications for internal and external Bank customers
Assist with outreach meetings, public programs and events

Research Internship:

The Research department produces academically respected economic research, monitors and reports on regional and national economic trends, and helps to craft public communications on economicissues. The department also models complex economic systems, analyzes data, andevaluates economic information to support the Federal Reserve Bank ofCleveland's monetary policy, supervisory, and payments system responsibilities.
Work with Economists and Research Analysts by gathering and analyzing data
Work with large data sets; utilize Microsoft Excel and other statistical packages to analyze data
Participate in creating a daily update of economic trends by reading and summarizing economic related articles

Economic and Research Internship Requirements:

Currently a sophomore or junior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Public Administration or Public Policy with a minimum GPA of 3.0, students currently pursuing a Master's or PhD in Economics will also be considered
Ability to conduct research and utilize statistical packages; Excel and SAS
Strong computer/technical skills required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, prior experience utilizing statistical packages desired
Strong writing and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a deadline driven environment and have ability to multitask.
Problem Solving Skills: 1)Interpersonal communication: Requires communicating well with people atdifferent levels, frequently sharing information with others while listening toand understanding their points of view. 2) Logical analysis: Requires thinking through and solving problems step by step, often looking beyond the obvious solution to a problem and digging deeper for the best solution.
