RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities for this position are to research, compile, analyze, interpret, and prepare data for the US and international economies, as well as create and modify computer programs related to maintaining, developing, and supporting the Windows-based desktop products of REMI (PI+, TranSight, Tax-PI, Metro-PI, BSIM, eREMI).
• Research and data collection related to national accounts and input-output tables for the U.S. and international economies.
• Research and data collection related to U.S. and international demographics.
• Work with management, programmers and economists to implement new and expanded features into REMI economic models.
• Macroeconomic and microeconomic analysis, technical writing, econometrics, and economic modeling.
• Maintaining existing data processing programs, including testing and debugging.
• Utilizing software and appropriate tools to perform statistical analyses.
• New product design and development.
• Adding new features to the model and maintenance, testing and debugging of model programs.
• Analyzing existing programs and systems and identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
• Implementing design changes and optimization techniques.
• Technical support, including customers and business development staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates are expected to have a masters in economics and experience in academic research and data analysis related to regional economics, demographics, economic impact analysis, or energy and natural resources; developing economic models using advanced econometric methods, time series, panel data, spatial econometrics, quantitative analysis and statistical graphics with programming tools (ex: R, SAS, Stata, Matlab); proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as C#, C++, Python and object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, and problem solving; writing research reports and academic papers; econometric coursework
