We are looking for an Economist with experience in analysis and forecast of Latin America countries with knowledge of investment risks in the region. Fluency in English and Spanish is essential for this position. Supports the Latin American desk with updates of various products as well as assist to resolve client's queries and make presentations. Junior applicants may be considered.

General Job Duties:

Analysis and forecast of Latin American economies
Risk assessment of sovereigns aimed at providing clients early warning signals
Specific Job Duties:

Primary responsibilities include:

Write same-day analysis and special reports to agreed deadlines, meeting quality and quantity requirements. Provide appropriate support to colleagues in periods of absence
Complete detailed macro-economic forecast and update historical databases for designated countries in line with agreed deadlines
Ensure Country reports (including Quarterly and interim economic templates) are kept current, pertinent and structured accordingly with in house templates
Monitor and revise country and sovereign risk ratings as appropriate;
Participate in regular regional and department-wide risk setting cycles as determined by Head of Risk
Develop a network of local contacts to enhance quality of IHS Markit research and external visibility
Liaise with sales team, respond to client feedback and attend clients meetings when appropriate and requested
Contribute to work on product enhancement and special projects as requested by the regional director

Required Experience:

Fluency in English and Spanish highly preferred
Strong understanding of the economics, politics, and history of the Latin American region
Experience in country analysis and forecast
Understanding of basic techniques of statistics and econometric modelling; experience in using statistical and econometric packages.
Sound knowledge MS Office applications
Strong writing skills

Required Education:

Bachelors or Masters degree in Economics.
