Summary:
Leading hedge fund requires a macro economist to contribute to research projects on the global economy ranging from short term economic developments to more long term structural issues

Profile:
The candidate sought will be a macro economist from a think tank, consultancy firm, international organisation, central bank, buy side or sell side firm.

Role:
In collaboration with the head of research, the wider research team in London and Washington DC and risk takers, the candidate will contribute to research projects on the global economy ranging from short term economic developments to more long term structural issues. In addition, the candidate will take ownership of some regional coverage based on his/her prior experience, ideally Developed Pacific Asian countries (Japan, New Zealand, Australia) and contribute to the team's broader modelling build out effort.
The role reports to the Head of Research.

Candidates will have:
- A minimum of 3 years' post graduate experience
- Strong grasp of macroeconomic theory and applied econometrics especially time series. Proficiency with Eviews and good knowledge of Matlab a plus
- Significant practical experience in using quantitative techniques to address macroeconomic questions
- Professional and research interests in macroeconomics, policy making and financial markets
- Experience of Developed Pacific Asian countries (Japan, New Zealand, Australia) a plus

The ideal candidate is very likely to have a PhD in Macroeconomics with a preference for International open macroeconomics.
