We are looking for a few great minds to work on the Economist team in Seattle. These Economists work directly with chief economist Patrick Bajari and senior management on key business problems faced in retail, international retail, cloud computing, third party merchants, search, Kindle and operations.

This team is growing and needs YOUR technical creativity!

Basic Qualifications
PhD in Economics by October of 2014
Programming skills in a modern object-oriented language like Java or C++.
Strong track record of innovating in statistical algorithms and applications.
Hands-on experience developing and implementing large-scale statistical models to solve real-world problems.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing and shell scripting in a Linux or UNIX environment.
Proficiency in at least one high-level scripting language like R, Matlab or Python.
Experience with SQL, Hive, Pig, SAS.
Experience developing in distributed systems.
