Conduct independent, original economics research including monetary policy, banking/financial markets, bankruptcy, and social security systems and issues. Actively participate in the economics profession by presenting research at professional conferences and seminars, organizing conferences or sessions, and serving on editorial boards. Prepare papers for publication in the Working Paper Series and top-tier professional journals. Prepare and deliver regularly scheduled and special policy briefings for the president on policy matters related to FOMC, banking, or regional activities. Write reports on policy issues of interest to the Bank or System. Contribute to the public education function by: preparing articles for publication in the Economic Quarterly; preparing economic analysis content for the Bank's public website as needed; preparing speech material for senior management. Brief and counsel management and senior staff members on the national, regional, and international economy, focusing on topics such as monetary policy, banking regulations and financial markets in particular. Utilize demonstrated expertise in macroeconomics, econometrics and labor economics.

Position requires approximately 25% self-directed travel for research, presentations and teaching.

Reqires PhD in Economics or related field.
