SUMMARY

Produces econometrically based analysis of commercial real estate markets while meeting tight deadlines. Requires substantial understanding of macroeconomic and real estate economics as well as the ability to work with large datasets to understand and quantify complex market relationships. A high priority will be placed on the ability to innovate on existing processes. We are also looking for someone who can communicate in written and spoken English in an authoritative and compelling way.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists in improving and expanding the economic, interest rate, equity, fixed-income market outlook and interpret the implications of this outlook for real estate markets.

Recognize, monitor, research and analyze economic issues and provide actionable insights to our clients.

Manage the production of defensible market and submarket forecasts for the U.S. and Canadian industrial property sector. Perform adhoc quantitative analysis with time-series econometric techniques to provide new insights on current and expected trends.

Conduct presentations internally and externally as needed to support business development efforts.

Collaborate with national and local leaders and researchers within CBRE on relevant research and be a subject matter expert for statistical analysis and forecasting within the firm.

May prepare senior executives for speaking engagements.

Other duties may be assigned.

No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to co-workers. May lead project teams and/or plan and supervise assignments of lower level employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree from a four-year university in Economics, Data Science, or Statistics plus a minimum of two years related experience or training.

Master's degree or Ph.D. in economics or statistics is highly preferable.

Substantive knowledge and skills of time series forecasting applied to commercial real estate, including on statistical analysis using standard packages (e.g. STATA, E-Views, R, Python).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information to both internal and external clients.

Requires advanced to in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate complex figures. Understanding of mathematical concepts and ability to apply them in the pursuit of practical situations.

Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.

Good knowledge of econometrics as evidenced by education, publications or projects. Ability to work well under pressure, with multiple/competing deadlines.

Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines.
