Based in Leeds, pteg is Britain’s leading voice on big city transport issues acting as an effecting advocate for the right policies to improve transport in the city regions. It also co-ordinates the joint work of the PTEs on a host of challenging issues, from how to reduce the carbon footprint of transport in the city regions to creating the policy environment where smart and integrated ticketing schemes can get up and running.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing us with the economic advice we need to make the best case we can on a wide range of key issues – from building up the evidence base on the benefits of transport investment in the city regions, to ensuring that passengers benefit from reforms to bus subsidies.
We are looking for a candidate who can take complex economic issues and arguments and articulate them in an authoritative and accessible way. A good communicator you will be able to represent and negotiate at a high level. Ideally you will have gained some of your experience in a local transport or public policy context.
