Responsibilities

Originates & executes advanced economic research projects re macroeconomics & monetary & fiscal policy, with special emphasis on current account imbalances & financial crises.  Builds & analyzes stochastic general equilibrium models to study the stabilization properties of alternative monetary policy strategies, including optimal policy rules.  Studies effects of globalization & exchange rate regimes on inflation dynamics.  Utilizes analytical & computational methods & data analysis techniques & knowledge of scientific programming in Matlab, E-Views and Stata.  Writes articles & technical analyses for policy formulation & internal & external publications.

Requirements

Master’s in Economics & all but dissertation (ABD) in Economics, and 2 yrs. in position offered or 2 yrs. as a university Economics research and/or teaching assistant.  Must have record of publication on monetary policy and experience conducting monetary policy research utilizing stochastic general equilibrium models.  Experience may be prior to completion of all courses required for Ph.D.
