Frontier Economics Ltd. is a leading economic consultancy with 7 offices across Europe and a consulting team of more than 250 experts from different sectors. Within our Energy practice we advise high-profile energy companies, regulators and governments in areas such as regulation, competition advice, investment and dispute support, strategy and policy. We are at the forefront of the energy transition towards a low-carbon economy, delivering a portfolio of innovative work to help assess potential future energy solutions.

We apply cutting-edge economics to help our clients make better decisions. Some recent work includes advising:

• a range of clients about the impact of low-carbon technologies such as electric vehicles on the electricity system;

• the German regulator on effective incentive regulation of network operators;

• a merging party seeking clearance from the European Commission for a high-profile energy asset swap;

• the Bulgarian government on two State aid cases in the electricity sector;

• gas network operators from multiple countries on the value of gas infrastructure in a decarbonised Europe;

• the Dutch ministry of economics on climate policy measures such as introducing a carbon price floor, using comprehensive electricity market modelling;

• the German Commission of Experts for Research and Innovation on the impact of the existing market framework on innovation and start-ups within the energy sector; and

• the World Energy Council on necessary steps for facilitating trade of P2X.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join our Energy practice. Applicants are required to have at least two years' experience in energy gained within a public authority, consultancy, academic institute or industry. Expertise in regulation, modelling and/or digitalisation is highly desirable. The successful candidate will work in either our Brussels, London or, preferably, Berlin or Cologne offices, and will speak fluent German and English.

We expect candidates to have the ability to apply a range of microeconomics tools to policy and business issues. Therefore you should have a Master's degree with a main focus in economics, industrial engineering or a comparably quantitative discipline. You will also be able to communicate complex economic arguments in non-technical language, and to build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues.

We offer consultants unparalleled opportunities to develop, learn to manage projects and colleagues as well as build relationships with clients. You'll be offered the opportunity to work closely with some of the brightest minds in the industry. In addition to your project work, as a shareholder of the company you will be encouraged to contribute to the running of our firm.

We are offering a highly competitive salary package plus bonus and benefits, including the option for flexible working arrangements.
