Expert Lead, Cancer Economics (Part-time)

The Expert Lead, Cancer Economics, will report to the Vice-President, Strategy, to provide content-specific advice and expertise on Cancer Economics with a view to advancing pan-Canadian initiatives in economic evaluation and health system sustainability.
The Expert Lead, Cancer Economics, will work closely with the Partnership's senior leaders to ensure initiatives are developed and implemented that support the organization's 2012–17 Strategic Plan commitments, with a view to measurably make an impact on cancer outcomes across Canada. The Expert Lead will build strong partnership relationships with other major cancer, public health and academic stakeholders to identify new strategies in this area of economic analysis to bring about more significant outcomes for Canadians.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience (ideal candidate qualifications)

• Senior health economics experience, with demonstrated leadership in the area of cancer control (minimum 10 years' experience)
• Advanced degree in health economics and/or health science (PhD, MD or MSc, with experience in the above areas)
• Experience in applied health economic evaluation in cancer control
• Experience in policy relevant collaborations with government decision makers
• An established network of contacts within the health economic/cancer control community nationally and preferably, internationally
• Understanding of current trends in health economics, clinical epidemiology, or equivalent work experience
• Outstanding oral and written communications skills, including the ability to translate technical information for public audiences
• Demonstrated ability to provide strategic-level input and direction and contribute to specific deliverables
• Demonstrated ability to influence and work with stakeholders to drive results without having direct responsibility for projects
• A record of success in working with a team to achieve common goals
• A strong commitment to the mission and vision of the Partnership
• Fluency in French an asset

Term of the Contract:
This contract position can start on or before September 1st 2015 and runs until March 31st 2017.
