Faculty Position in Applied Mathematics

The Instituto de Matemática Pura e Aplicada (IMPA) invites applications for a tenure track position in Applied Mathematics with strong preference for specialists in Mathematical Economics (General Equilibrium, Decision Theory, Game Theory, etc). Tenure will be considered during the first four years. In exceptional cases, the probationary period may be shortened or eliminated. The monthly salary will be between R$ 19.208,00 and R$ 26.306,00. The annual salary (thirteen months) will be between R$ 249.700,00 and R$ 341.978,00.

Candidates should also indicate the names and e-mail addresses of not less than 3 renowned mathematicians/mathematical economists. These mathematicians/mathematical economists will receive an e-mail message containing information on how to submit a recommendation letter what can be done until February 28, 2019.
The decision will be made by March, 2019. The appointee should begin his/her engagement at IMPA between April, 2019 and March, 2020.
