Freelance Economist/Econometrician

Longitude Research is looking for a freelance Economist/Econometrician who can apply their first-class analysis and quantitative skills in a fast-growing, client-driven business. Working in collaboration with our Research and Editorial teams, we're seeking to use your skills and experience to help create a range of innovative, data-driven research projects, across a wide range of topics and themes.

We're a specialist thought leadership agency producing research-based content for the world's leading B2B brands. Our data-related output is highly varied but can cover economic analysis, creation of indexes and benchmarks, economic modelling and forecasting, and policy appraisal. Our team has helped drive a wide range of cutting-edge econometric studies, including: a ranking of openness to trade across Africa; a ranking of European cities by their relative degree of environmental impact; a forecast of UK trade; an assessment of the UK's environment for entrepreneurs; and much more.

Desired Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:

• Advanced degree in Economics/Econometrics, or equivalent qualification or experience.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and topics to clients in a credible and impactful manner.
• Experience of developing country or industry indexes, economic forecasts and economic modelling work
• Experience of working with both quantitative and qualitative data sources and techniques
• Ability to apply analytic and economic skills to conceptualise and deliver compelling and interesting studies and research.
• Experience of applying their economic knowledge and skills to commercial projects
• Excellent MS Excel skills.
