Fundamental Analyst

This role supports and directly works with colleagues and internal customers both in Europe and the US. Occasional working hours adjustments may be necessary to support urgent requests.

Develop Long Term Power Price Model for US energy market fundamentals, including generation expansion, fuel price forecast, long term energy/peak forecast, environmental regulations, etc.
Developing and maintaining nodal price models for target US market. Analyze forward electricity price forecasts and forward curves
Responsible for quantifying key energy markets price risks and working closely with the other commercial and risk teams to understand the potential impacts of these risks to the business
Providing steering on market issues to the relevant strategy and regulation teams
Develop and maintain processes to gather, interpret and process market trends and drivers, including but not limited to load growth, macroeconomic drivers, etc.
Identify and lead implementation of tools, systems and resources to perform modeling activities to enhance data accuracy and validity
Provide input and support to various decisions making processes for E.ON strategic decisions
Document and share modeling methodology and inputs

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required in engineering, mathematics, economics or other quantitative discipline, graduate degree in similar fields preferred.
Minimum 2 years experience; 2 years modeling experience in AURORA, PROMOD or similar commercial software.
Experience in US power markets (ERCOT, PJM, CAISO, MISO, SPP) required commensurate position grade.
Required travel: up to 25%, including international.
