As a Game Economist/Economy Analyst you will play a central role on the Economy Design team at Machine Zone, collaborating directly with our Game Design, Data Science, Business Intelligence, and Marketing teams. You should be a sharp, disciplined, and highly analytical individual who has a passion for mobile gaming and loves digging in data to figure out who is doing what, where, when and why to inform the design and balancing of new game features to drive time retention and ultimately monetization. Responsibilities:

Design, test, and optimize game economy features, such as sales and iap pricing based on data, to drive retention and monetization
Build mathematical models simulating features and utilize A/B testing programs to maximize retention, time spent in the game, and LTV
Collaborate with data warehouse engineers on what data is delivered and how to ensure timely access to the right information to impact LTV
Influence development teams (platform and games) to implement tools, features and/or designs – success is measured in % monetizing, retention, time spent in the game, and LTV

Requirements:

BA/BS or higher in Economics, Psychology, Business, Statistics, Applied Math, or related field.
5+ years experience in monetization and retention analytics in social media, e-commerce or consumer products
3+ years experience in games a must; experience with MMOs, free-to-play, social games, casino games, or mobile games strongly preferred
Product or store management experience a plus
Expert with Excel
Expert with R, MATLAB, SAS or equivalent
Strong background in statistics and mathematical modeling
Strong analytical and quantitative problem solving ability
Experience influencing engineering and/or software/game development teams
Strong teamwork and influence skills up and across the organization
