US Economic Research Group – Economist – New York, NY. Goldman Sachs seeks an experienced economist to join its US Economic Research group in New York. The US economic research group is part of Global Economics, Commodities and Strategy Research and has won numerous forecasting accolades, including the 2009 Lawrence R. Klein Award for the most accurate US economic forecast among all 50+ participants in the Blue Chip Economic Indicators, Inc., survey over the prior four years.

 

Basic Qualifications:
• PhD in economics or equivalent qualification 
• 5+ years of experience in US macroeconomic research and forecasting, gained either in the public or private sector

Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work in a close-knit team
 • A proven capability for original and thought-provoking research
