About the role
Working in the Investments Division at Balfour Beatty is an exciting place to be. You will get the opportunity to work with amazing people every day to help create the infrastructure society needs to evolve.

Working in our team is incredibly varied as we are involved in a project throughout its infrastructure lifecycle; from planning and design right through the construction phase into operations. The sectors we operate in vary significantly too, from delivering student accommodation facilities to transporting power from offshore wind farms.

Even though the Investments Division operates globally we are one big team; a global collection of experts in project finance, bidding and service delivery.

As an International Business Graduate, you will embark on a two year programme of key placements across different parts of the Investments Division (typically up to 6 months). This may involve spending time in a different country (US, Canada and the UK). In each placement you will be expected to be an integral part of the team. Upon completion of the programme our current expectation is that you will reside within the business development areas of our business, which will involve working within the bid teams to actively secure new business for the growth of the investments division.

The graduate scheme lasts for two years, you'll be assigned a mentor and invited to attend Group graduate-based events, which will provide you with an opportunity to network with your peers and share best practice. You will take part in Group- wide Business Improvement and Corporate Social Responsibility Projects that will affect the way we work as a business. As a Balfour Beatty graduate you will follow a development programme that will equip you with the skills needed to become a business leader of the future.

Who we're looking for

To be considered for our graduate scheme, you'll have:

Drive and energy with a self-motivated attitude to your development
At least a 2:1 in a business related degree, such as economics, mathematics, finance, or international business
Strong interest in being involved in complex infrastructure projects
A wish to work internationally for a short period of time while on placement
A team-focus with the ability to interact with a wide variety of people at all levels
A full, clean UK driving licence

We are looking for creative thinkers who are motivated by the prospect of managing bid budgets and problem solving. We invest in large complex infrastructure projects in the UK, US and Canada, so you will need to be flexible and willing to work internationally to support our future growth.
