Job Description:
ICF Macro partners with its clients to design and implement solutions and services that protect and improve the quality of life. We work to improve the conditions of the most at-risk populations by reaching out to populations in need, as well as providing strategic consulting support to health and human services agencies throughout the world. Over 900 professionals within our Health, Education and Social Programs Group (HESP) supply subject matter expertise in Statistical Analysis, Survey Design, Economic Analysis, Qualitative Research, Regulatory Analysis, and Training and Technical Assistance. Using rigorous research techniques and applauded project management skills, we advise our clients, implement solutions, and improve outcomes in the United States and internationally.
 
ICF Macro seeks a Health Economist to provide methodological expertise to research studies and program evaluations conducted in collaboration with Federal agency clients.  Current projects utilize a range of study designs and analytical approaches to examine health issues, including prevention and treatment programs in mental health and substance abuse, chronic disease, and HIV/AIDS among a broad range of domestic and international populations. 
 

 

Qualifications
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and implementing methods for addressing issues in health economics
  • Performing complex economic analysis and modeling of the public health industry
  • Directing junior staff in conducting analyses and preparing reports
  • Disseminating research findings in academic literature, reports and presentations
Basic Qualifications: 
  • PhD in Economics or closely-related field required.
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in the field of research and/or evaluation is required.
  • Advanced statistical analysis skills are required.
  • Extensive experience using statistical software, such as Stata and SAS, is a must.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
  • Familiarity with mathematical modeling and simulation studies preferred.
  • Experience in health policy research is highly desired.
  • Ability to design research studies and evaluations in diverse and sometimes challenging environments preferred.
  • Fluency in 1 or 2 languages other than English is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting a Federal client is highly desired.
