UBS Global Asset Management is one of the world's leading asset managers, providing traditional and alternative investment solutions to financial intermediaries and institutional investors. Infrastructure Asset Management, our direct infrastructure investment business, manages the USD 1.52 billion UBS International Infrastructure Fund and is presently raising UBS International Infrastructure Fund II (targeting USD 2 billion). We invest in infrastructure – structures and facilities essential for economic activity like airports, power generation plants, pipelines, toll roads and water utilities. Ordinarily, we acquire a controlling interest and actively manage our investment.

The role:
We need a talented individual to join Infrastructure Asset Management in London as an Infrastructure Analyst. The Infrastructure Analyst will spend around 75% of the first 12 to 18 months working with one of our investment companies, Njord Gas Infrastructure AS. After 12 to 18 months, the analyst will then work exclusively in the European Infrastructure team and will focus on infrastructure investing and asset management across Europe.
Njord is part-owner of Gassled, the world's largest offshore gas transmission system. During the first six months, the analyst will work exclusively on Njord business. Njord is headquartered in Stavanger, Norway and the analyst will spend up to two weeks per month based in Stavanger. This role reports to the Head of Infrastructure, Europe. In relation to Njord work, however, the analyst will also report to the Finance Director of Njord and a member of the Njord board.

Requirements

Responsibilities
•In respect of Njord, maintain and develop the financial model and provide financial analysis to the Finance Director.
•Participate in transactions (sourcing and execution) including due diligence and contractual negotiation as required.
•Support the management of portfolio assets.
•Inspect and visit portfolio assets regularly; monitor and evaluate asset performance and continue to review asset valuations.

Skills, Education and Experience
•Essential 2nd European Language - German / Spanish
•Undergraduate degree especially in accounting, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, law or science.
•Strong Excel skills with the ideal candidate having financial modelling experience.
•Up to four years' work experience in an accounting firm (especially transaction services), investment bank or other professional services firm or construction, engineering or resources firm with a preference for those firms related to infrastructure.
•Debt or project finance, mergers & acquisitions or other corporate finance, transport, energy or utilities experience will be advantages
