Overview of the Position:

This position reports to the Head of Domestic Macro Research. You will be a member of HIMCO's domestic macro strategy and research team.

Specific Responsibilities Include:
Enhance forecasting macro models for the U.S.
Writing thought pieces to express our macro views
To analyze business/credit cycles and economic regimes and to determine how asset class perform during each stage
To produce ad hoc analysis of time sensitive macro events or shocks
Work with other groups to enhance communication of our macro views

Qualifications

Qualifications & Required Experience

An Advanced Degree in Economics with a concentration in econometrics, macroeconomics, and international macroeconomics is strongly preferred
0-5 Years as a macroeconomist
Strong economics/econometrics background with a focus on developing forecasting models
Excellent communication and writing skills
In depth knowledge of statistical packages such as MATLAB and STATA is required
